Your Furniture Needs Putting Back Together
So you've moved house. The furniture came apart to get it here. Now you're staring at a pile of panels and mystery screws wondering where to start.
💡 Pro tip: If I dismantled your furniture for the move, I'll have bagged and labelled everything. Reassembly is usually quicker because I already know how your stuff goes together.
Why Not Just DIY It?
Because you're knackered from moving, the instructions are missing, and frankly life's too short to spend your Saturday wrestling with a wardrobe.

🔧 DIY Tips
Want to rebuild it yourself? Here's how to do it properly:
🔧 Tools you'll need
- Cordless drill with clutch setting
- Set of Allen keys (hex keys)
- Screwdrivers (Phillips and flat-head)
- Spirit level
- Rubber mallet
- Helper for large items
📦 Rebuilding sequence
- Lay out all pieces and identify them
- Find and organize all fixings
- Build the base/frame first
- Work upwards - sides, then shelves/internals
- Fit back panel (this squares everything up)
- Add doors and adjustable components last
- Use a spirit level as you go
⚠️ Common DIY mistakes
- Not building on a level floor (makes everything wonky)
- Over-tightening cam locks (they crack)
- Fitting shelves before the back panel (won't square up)
- Not using a spirit level
- Forcing parts that don't want to go together
- Building doors on before the frame is squared
💡 Pro trick: Always fit the back panel before doors. The back panel squares up the whole carcass - doors fitted first will bind and won't close properly.
Rather leave it to a pro? No problem - that's what I'm here for. Give me a call.
Good to Know
📦 Still unpacking? I can reassemble as you find the parts. Don't need everything in one go - we'll build what we can and I'll come back for the rest if needed.
Had furniture dismantled for the move? Those bagged fixings are gold. Keep them with the furniture piece they belong to until I arrive.
Cheap flat-pack that's been moved multiple times? Some really budget stuff doesn't go back together well - particle board holes strip out. I'll advise if anything looks dodgy.
Frequently Asked Questions
What furniture can you reassemble?
Anything that was previously built - wardrobes, bed frames, desks, bookcases, dining tables, flat-pack furniture. If you've moved house and it came apart for the move, I can put it back together.
Do I need to have the original instructions?
Helpful but not essential. Most flat-pack follows similar principles and if I took it apart for you, I'll have notes from that. If you've lost the instructions, I can usually figure it out or find them online.
What if screws or fixings went missing during the move?
I carry common flat-pack fixings with me. If something's missing I can usually replace it. For specialist fixings, I can get them from local merchants - you'd just pay the cost of the parts.
Can you reassemble furniture you didn't dismantle?
Yes - happens all the time when people have used removal companies. Just might take slightly longer as I'm figuring out how it goes together, but it's absolutely doable.
How long after moving should I book reassembly?
Whenever suits you. Some people want it done immediately so they can sleep in their beds, others wait until they've decided room layouts. I'd recommend booking within the first week while you still know where all the fixings bags are.
