Get the Kids Bouncing Again

Moved house and got a dismantled trampoline sitting in the garage? The kids are asking daily when it'll be back up, and you're dreading the thought of wrestling 100+ springs back on without the right tools or knackered fingers.

I'll have it rebuilt properly in your new garden - frame assembled, mat stretched on, springs tensioned correctly, safety net fitted secure. Job done in an afternoon.

💡 Pro tip: Reassembly takes longer than disassembly because springs need to be tensioned properly and everything needs checking for safety. But once it's done, it's solid.

What to Expect

Step 1: Frame Assembly

I'll build the frame sections together and set up the legs, making sure everything's level and the location works for your garden layout.

Step 2: Mat & Springs

Mat positioned on the frame, then springs fitted methodically working around. This is the bit that takes time - each spring needs hooking on and tensioning properly.

Step 3: Safety Net Setup

If you've got a safety enclosure, the poles get fitted and the net secured all around. Final safety check and it's ready for bouncing.

🔧 DIY Tips

Attempting it yourself? Here's what you're in for:

🔧 Tools you'll need

  • Spring pulling tool (essential - buy two if possible)
  • Gloves (springs are sharp and awkward)
  • Adjustable spanner for leg bolts
  • Spirit level (to check it's not wonky)
  • Patience (seriously, loads of it)

📐 Assembly order

  1. Build the frame and attach legs
  2. Lay out the mat in the frame
  3. Attach springs opposite each other (creates even tension)
  4. Fit safety net poles and enclosure
  5. Check everything's secure

⚠️ Common DIY mistakes

  • Fitting springs randomly instead of opposite pairs (mat ends up uneven)
  • Not using a spring tool (you'll destroy your hands trying)
  • Assembling on uneven ground (trampoline rocks forever after)
  • Giving up with 20 springs still to go (I've finished many of these!)

💡 Pro trick: When fitting springs, always work in opposite pairs - fit one, then the spring directly opposite. This keeps even tension on the mat. If you just work around the circle, the last few springs are nearly impossible to get on.

Rather leave it to a pro? No problem - that's what I'm here for. Give me a call.

Good to Know

🏡 Choosing location? Flat ground is ideal, but most Devon gardens have some slope. I can advise whether your chosen spot will work or if we need to consider levelling. Also think about safety space around it - you want a clear area.

Missing parts? Common issue with second-hand trampolines or ones that have been stored. I can source replacement springs, nets, or fixings. Let me know what's missing when you book.

Ground anchors? Devon gets windy. If your trampoline's in an exposed spot, ground anchors are worth considering. I can fit these while I'm assembling - they stop it blowing away in storms.

Frequently Asked Questions

What if I've lost some of the springs or fixings?

I'll assess what's missing and can usually source replacement parts from trampoline suppliers. Springs are fairly standard, and most fixings can be matched. If lots of parts are missing it might be worth considering a new trampoline, but a few springs here and there are no problem.

Can you reassemble a trampoline that someone else took apart?

Yes, as long as all the main parts are there. If the previous owner didn't label things or some bits are missing, it might take a bit longer to work out, but I can usually figure it out. Photos of the original setup really help if you have them.

Do I need to level the ground first?

Trampolines work best on level ground, but most gardens have a bit of slope. I can advise on site whether your chosen spot is suitable or if we need to level it slightly. Really uneven ground isn't safe, so I'll be honest if the location won't work.

How long until the kids can use it after you've finished?

Straight away. Once it's built, tensioned properly, and I've done a safety check, they're good to go. That's usually the best bit - seeing their faces when the trampoline's back up.

What if we need to move it in the garden later?

Once it's built, trampolines can be moved short distances without dismantling - just needs a few people to lift. But if you want to move it properly to a new spot, I can disassemble and reassemble in the new location. Best to choose the right spot first time though!
