Do you bring the hinges or do I need to buy them?
I carry common sizes and styles in the van. For specialty hinges or if you want a specific finish, I can grab them from a local supplier - just adds a bit of time. Photos help me bring the right ones first time.
Is it worth repairing posts or should I just replace the whole fence?
If the panels are in decent condition, repairing posts saves you hundreds. If the panels are knackered too, sometimes full replacement makes more sense. I'll give you an honest assessment when I see it - I'm not here to sell you work you don't need.
Is it worth repairing a fence panel or just replacing it?
Depends what's wrong. If it's just a few broken slats, repair makes sense. If the whole panel's rotten or falling apart, replacement's the better option. I'll tell you honestly - if a repair's going to cost nearly as much as a new panel and only last a couple of years, replacement's the sensible choice.
What about the old fence - do you remove it?
Yes, removal and disposal are part of the job. I'll take down the old fence, clear the posts (dig out or cut flush), and dispose of everything properly. Site gets left tidy.
Is post and rail fencing suitable for keeping dogs in?
Not on its own - dogs can slip through the gaps easily. But we can add mesh or wire to the back of post and rail which gives you the look you want with the security you need. It's a common request and works well.
