Common Questions About Drone
Do you check downpipes too?
We can inspect the tops of downpipes and check for visible blockages or damage. The camera can't see inside a downpipe, but we can spot debris at the entry point and any external damage or disconnection.
Can it find where my roof is leaking?
It can identify areas of moisture in the roof structure, which is often the first step in finding a leak. Water travels along rafters and membranes, so the wet area shown on thermal may not be directly below the entry point - but it narrows things down massively.
What can you see that I can't from the ground?
From the ground, you can see the general shape of your chimney and maybe spot something obviously wrong. From the drone, we see individual mortar joints, the condition of flashing where the chimney meets the roof, the state of pots and cowls, any cracks in the stack, and whether the lead work is intact. The detail level is completely different.
What can a drone actually see on my roof?
Everything. We capture high-resolution photos and 4K video from every angle - individual tiles, ridge lines, flashings, mortar, lead work, valleys, gutters, and chimneys. The camera zooms in close enough to spot hairline cracks. You'll see things you'd never spot from the ground.
Can you add thermal imaging to the property survey?
Yes - and I'd recommend it for older properties. The thermal camera reveals heat loss, moisture issues, and insulation failures that visual inspection alone can't detect. It adds time but gives you a much more complete picture.
How long does a roof inspection take?
Most standard houses take 45 minutes to an hour of flight time, plus setup and report time. Larger or more complex properties may take longer. You'll usually have your photos and report same day.
