How it works

Pick a person, book the time, pay, and they turn up and crack on.

£60 an hour including VAT, two hour minimum.

Book a handyman

Step by step

  1. 1

    Tell us what needs doing

Pick a category or describe the job in your own words, and add photos from your phone. That is usually enough for us to work out how long it will take.

  2. 2

Get a steer on the hours

We come back with a realistic number of hours for what you have described, and say so plainly if it is work for a specialist rather than a handyman.

  3. 3

    Choose your handyman

You see the people who do that kind of work, with their skills and their next availability, and pick the one you want.

  4. 4

Pick a day and a time

Real availability from that person's own calendar, with travel time already accounted for, and a check that you are inside the area we cover.

  5. 5

    Three checks, then pay

Three quick questions before payment, then you pay in full online. You get a receipt and a VAT invoice straight away.

  6. 6

    Confirmed

Your confirmation arrives on whichever channel you contacted us on, with a reminder the day before and a message when your handyman is on the way.

  7. 7

    On the day, and after

They turn up and crack on. You get a summary and photos when the work is done, and booking again takes one tap.

Three checks before you pay

Three tick boxes on the way to the pay step. They take one screen and they remove most of the reasons a visit goes wrong.

Suitable?

This is general handyman work, not a specialist install.

Materials?

You supply them, or you book a 30 minute advice visit.

Access?

Someone to let us in, parking, pets.

If the wrong materials are on site, the visit still runs for whatever can be done, and we offer you the advice visit instead.

If a job needs more time

Your booking covers the time you book. The time already used remains payable; if more time is needed, a further visit is booked separately (your handyman can set it up before leaving).

Rates and changes

  • £60 an hour including VAT, two hour minimum. Half days and full days are the same hourly rate.
  • Change or cancel free with more than 24 hours' notice.
  • Cancel inside 24 hours and we keep half. A no-show keeps the full amount.
  • If we have to cancel, for weather or because someone is ill, you get a full refund or a free re-book, whichever you prefer.
  • Materials are yours to supply. If your handyman picks up small consumables, they log them with the receipt.
  • Anything about money, refunds or a complaint is read by a person before it is sent to you.

What is not bookable by the hour

Multi-day and project work, structural work, gas and electrical certification work, and specialist installs. Those go through the talk to us path instead, where we either point you at the right trade or pass you to one of our partners with your say-so first.
