Common Questions
My shed is right at the bottom of the garden. Is that a problem?
That is exactly where off-grid solar earns its place. If a shed or workshop is too far from the house to run mains cable easily, a solar and battery setup gives it power without digging a trench across the garden.
Can it run power tools?
It depends on the tools. Chargers, lights, a radio and smaller power tools are straightforward. For heavier machinery we size the system to suit, and we will be clear about what it will comfortably run before you commit.
Will it still work in winter?
Panels still generate in winter, though the days are shorter, so we size the battery to carry you through darker spells. Tell us how you use the space and we will size it around that.
Do I need any grid paperwork for this?
No. Off-grid systems sit outside the grid paperwork, so the install stays straightforward. We wire and fuse everything to a safe standard and label it clearly.
