While we handle everyday electrical tasks like fitting lights, adding sockets, and installing ceiling fans, we know our limits and won't attempt work that requires a qualified electrician. For the jobs we do take on, safety is paramount - proper isolation, correct fittings, and thorough testing. We're happy to recommend qualified electricians for larger jobs.

Common Questions About Electrical
Do electric showers need special wiring?
Yes - they're high powered (usually 8.5-10.5kW) and need dedicated circuits, appropriate cable size, and their own breaker. It's not a plug-in job - proper electrical work.
What lamp problems can you fix?
Dodgy switches, frayed cables, loose connections, broken sockets. Most table and floor lamps can be repaired. If it's a valuable antique, repairs are definitely worth it.
Can you change tubes at height?
Yes - we bring appropriate ladders and work safely at height. Those kitchen tubes above worktops or garage lights in high ceilings - we can reach them.
Can you connect to existing wiring?
Usually yes - if there's an existing outdoor light, we can connect to that supply. New installations may need cable running from inside, but we keep it neat.
Why upgrade my consumer unit?
Old fuse boxes don't have modern protection - no RCDs to cut power if there's a fault. New units have RCBOs for each circuit, protecting you from electric shock and fire. If yours is old, it's a safety issue.
Will it wobble?
Not if installed properly. Wobble usually means unbalanced blades or loose mounting. We balance everything before leaving.
