Flooring
Transform your rooms with professionally laid flooring. Clean, precise installation with minimal disruption.
18 services available across Exeter and surrounding areas.

New flooring transforms a room, but only if it's laid properly. Clicks that don't quite click, expansion gaps that show, transitions that trip - poor installation ruins the effect. We lay laminate, vinyl, and engineered wood flooring with proper preparation, correct expansion gaps, and neat finishing. We'll trim doors to clear the new floor height and fit thresholds between rooms.

Sam lays flooring with patience and precision. He won't rush a job and leave you with clicking joints or visible gaps. He'll also advise honestly if your subfloor needs work before new flooring goes down.

Common Questions About Flooring
Can vinyl go over existing flooring?
Sometimes. If your old floor is flat, solid, and well-stuck down, vinyl can go straight over it. Loose tiles, lumpy lino, or carpet will need removing first. We'll check and advise.
What if the subfloor underneath is damaged?
If we find damage when we lift the tile, we'll let you know what needs fixing. Sometimes it's just a case of re-levelling with screed or compound. We'll discuss options and costs before proceeding.
Will removing a tile damage the ones around it?
We take care to remove damaged tiles without cracking the neighbours, but sometimes old adhesive or brittle tiles make it tricky. We'll assess the risk before starting and let you know if there's a chance of collateral damage.
Do the pins have to face a certain way?
Yeah, the angled pins face towards the wall. That way, when carpet is stretched and tucked down, the pins grip it and hold tension. If you fit gripper with pins facing the wrong way, the carpet won't stay tight and it'll look baggy.
What causes laminate to get damaged?
Water is the main culprit - spills that aren't wiped up quickly, leaks, or high humidity make laminate swell and warp. Heavy impacts can chip or crack boards. Sometimes it's just wear in high traffic areas. If there's an underlying issue like damp, that needs sorting first or the new boards will fail too.
Can carpet gripper go on any floor type?
Concrete and wooden subfloors are fine - I'll nail gripper to wood or use masonry nails/adhesive for concrete. Tiled floors are tricky because gripper needs solid fixing and tiles can crack. If you've got tiles and want carpet over them, we need to talk about the best approach first.
