If you've got spare boards left over from the original installation, perfect - I'll use those. If not, matching can be tricky because laminate patterns change frequently. Bring me a piece of the damaged board and I'll do my best to find a close match, but exact matches aren't always possible.
Can you fit them over underfloor heating?
Yes, we use adhesive or track-fixing methods that don't penetrate the heating system. We'll check what's underneath before drilling.
Can I use old underlay with new carpet?
Only if it's in good condition - no lumps, tears, or compression. Old underlay that's worn out will make new carpet feel cheap and wear faster. Usually worth replacing it.
What's the difference between threshold types?
Flat bars work for floors at the same height. Ramp profiles cover height differences (like carpet to tile). Reducer strips taper down from one floor to another. We'll recommend the right one when we see the job.
How do you fix them down?
Depends on the strip type and floor. Some screw down, some clip into tracks, some stick with adhesive. We'll use the best method for your situation and make sure it's secure.
Can you match scotia to my flooring colour?
Usually yes. Most laminate and LVT ranges include matching scotia in the same finish. If you're using a budget floor without matching scotia, I can fit generic beading in oak, walnut, white, or pine - we'll get as close as possible.
