Not sure which yours is? Describe the job and we will tell you
New flooring transforms a room, but only if it's laid properly. Clicks that don't quite click, expansion gaps that show, transitions that trip - poor installation ruins the effect. We lay laminate, vinyl, and engineered wood flooring with proper preparation, correct expansion gaps, and neat finishing. We'll trim doors to clear the new floor height and fit thresholds between rooms.
Why Choose Hembury Contracting?
Sam lays flooring with patience and precision. He won't rush a job and leave you with clicking joints or visible gaps. He'll also advise honestly if your subfloor needs work before new flooring goes down.

Common Questions About Flooring
Will re-glued tiles be as strong as new?
If the subfloor underneath is sound and we can get good adhesive coverage, yes. If the subfloor's damaged or moving, we'll need to fix that first or the tile will just come loose again.
How long before I can walk on varnished floors?
Water-based varnish is touch-dry in 2-4 hours, but don't walk on it properly for 24 hours. Oil-based varnish takes longer - 6-8 hours before you can walk carefully, 48 hours before normal use. And don't put furniture back for at least a week, or you'll dent the finish before it's fully cured.
Can you fit carpet on stairs?
Yes, stairs are no problem. They take a bit longer because of the cutting and tucking involved, but we've done hundreds of staircases. Costs a bit more than flat areas due to the extra time.
Do you move furniture?
We can move light to medium furniture as part of the job. Really heavy items like wardrobes or piano might need emptying first. If you're not sure, just ask when we quote.
How do you fix them down?
Depends on the trim type. T-section trims slot into a track that's glued down. Ramp trims and Scotia beading get pinned or glued. I'll use whichever method suits your flooring and subfloor best.
How long does fitting carpet gripper take?
A typical room - living room or bedroom - takes about an hour once I'm set up. Larger rooms or awkward shapes take longer. If the floor needs prep work (like removing old gripper or levelling), that adds time.
